About the Author...

Jolandi Stadler is a South African author of psychological, folk, thriller and historical horror whose work explores fear in its most intimate forms.

She is currently developing multiple projects in adult fiction, while building a long-term career rooted in dark storytelling and immersive worlds.

Her debut novel, The Devil’s Dance, draws inspiration from the real 1518 Strasbourg dancing plague, using horror to explore hysteria, power, and the dangerous comfort of certainty. It will be published by Black Rose Writing.

While grounded in history, Jolandi’s work moves across the darker edges of Thriller and Horror, where folklore, faith, and human fragility collide.

She Draws her Inspiration From...

The quiet places -- South Africa’s landscapes, with their vast silences, dramatic contrasts, immense beauty and long histories shape her love of atmosphere and unease.

Family remains a steady anchor in her life and writing, offering comfort and the occasional reminder to step away from the keyboard.

Her fiancé provides calm and reassurance when the work turns dark or the doubts grow loud.

And then there is Harley Davidson, the chihuahua, who believes he is much larger and far more intimidating than the Big Five animals that surrounds her. As her constant writing companion, Harley supervises long hours at the desk, guards the house from warthogs, black-backed jackels, lions and elephants. He contributes moral support in exchange for snacks.
